The Laboratorio Olfattometrico of Politecnico di Milano stands as a benchmark for odour impact analysis, combining the worlds of university research and industry.
The Laboratorio Olfattometrico was born within the Politecnico di Milano in 1997 from a need in the area related to the waste emergency in the municipality of Milan.
Innovation in techniques for research, monitoring, analysis and estimation of atmospheric dispersion has enabled the Laboratory to become a national reference for industry, control bodies and the European research world, including through participation in national and international research projects.
We deal with:
- Odour sampling and analysis by dynamic olfactometry
- Odour impact assessment
- Continuous odour monitoring using electronic noses
- Chemical analysis of odorous emissions
Besides research in the environmental and industrial fields, the experience gained in odour analysis has been applied in other areas of great scientific interest, such as medical diagnostics and quality control during product development.
